DOMESTIC HOT WATER
Last evening, our mechanical contractor was successful in switching over domestic hot water (for your kitchen and bath), from the old system to the new. This was the next step in our heating plant replacement. Although we encountered one slight issue in start up, this was quickly resolved to avoid further disruption. We’re thankful to the project contractors for smooth and systematic work … and to Mike Rohrbach for his diligent oversight.
ELEVATOR 9
Factoid: It is not well known that one of the oldest elevator repair companies, OTIS Elevator, is named for an inventor, NOT of the elevator itself, but of the brake systems that prevent free fall. Elevators had been in use prior to Mr. Otis’ work, but there were many fatalities resulting from elevator malfunctions and terrifying experiences associated with something that was supposed to be a domestic convenience made necessary by tall buildings.
Our company, ThyssenKrupp, made repairs on elevator9 yesterday, much to the relief of all. Note that the repair was to a back-up brake system – worth waiting for. Understandably, the lack of elevator access to 9 (and all other floors) is an inconvenience, but I for one will insist on cooperating with the repairing technicians. We’re thankful or safe elevators.
Some scheduled events will revert to the 9th floor but please check schedules and TV1970 for up-to-date information.
VACCINATION FOR COVID19
Positivity infection rate for Bucks County is 4.5% today. The prevalence of infection continues to climb during this summer surge. As usual we are watching the numbers carefully and acting accordingly.
Mandatory vaccination for employees has a deadline of September 1 and we are making excellent progress. We’ve also written to the several residents who have not been vaccinated against Covid19, encouraging them to take the vaccine and reminding them that they must wear masks whenever they are outside their apartment.
