Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
HEALTH CENTER
For health center residents ONLY – we are scheduling Monday and Tuesday from 9AM to 3PM for you to come to the community and complete and sign the consent form for the COVID-19 virus. Please expect a call reiterating this information.
WE DO NOT HAVE A SCHEDULED DATE.
WE DO NOT KNOW WHICH VACCINE WE WILL RECEIVE.
On Thursday, December 17, we emailed information to you Questions & Answers, prepared by AMDA, the American Medical Directors Association. Also in that email was an educational paper from the Patient Safety Authority with information about vaccines, and specifically about the RNA vaccine – the COVID-19 composition.
IF you want your loved on to receive the vaccine, and we are hoping for 100% participation, it is imperative that you get here on one of the two days, following the directions here:
A thru L: Monday 9AM to 3PM
M thru Z: Tuesday 9AM to 3 PM
- Come to the vestibule of the main entrance and pick up the consent form and educational information from a staff member.
- Return to your car and complete the consent form, including your signature.
- Return the consent form to the staff member in the vestibule.
- A copy will be provided to you at a later date. We cannot accommodate copies on the date you are here due to the delay in the process.
PERSONAL CARE
During a webinar I just learned that personal care resident vaccinations will occur in Phase B. We have no idea when that will occur. I will keep you updated as quickly as I confirm this as a fact or as soon as I have that information.
INDEPENDENT LIVING
Unfortunately, I have no new information regarding the independent living vaccinations, either. I will keep you updated, as well – we need the information.
HOLIDAY GIFTS FOR ALL RESIDENTS
We strongly urge you to stay in over the holiday season, avoid visiting families and friends. It is a bleak holiday, but value your health and safety. Value the health and safety of your families.
Wear your mask covering your nose and mouth whenever in public. Wash your hands frequently. Most of all be safe.
HOLIDAY GIFT DROP OFF
A thru L: Monday 9AM to 3PM
M thru Z: Tuesday 9AM to 3 PM
- Drop off holiday gifts at this time.
- Please place gifts in one large bag and clearly mark the resident’s name on the bag in such a manner as to prevent the name and the bag of gifts from being separated.
- I keep all of the loose gifts!
I am requesting your perseverance and patience with us during this Monday and Tuesday. I anticipate it is going to be a crazy time at the main entrance, and we will do our best to control traffic.
In advance, I want to thank all of you. I am sorry for the abbreviated notice at such a busy time of year. The same as much of the information we have received throughout this pandemic, it is coming with short notice and a lot of preparation to be completed with little notice. We do not have the actual 3-part consent form, and were notified today that we can download an electronic version and then make two copies once completed. Everything is a surprise!
I cannot begin to express my gratitude to each of you for your support of our staff, your kindness and working so well with use over these long months.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have by phone or directly to my email.
Stay safe,
Suzanne H. Lachman, LNHA
