This past weekend was a symbolic weekend for WEL Main Line.  This time last year, the first significant event that we had to cancel was Passover seder due to our first positive tests.  We also had to cancel our Easter services as well.  We were able to host seder this past Saturday night for a small group of residents and we were also able to invite fully vaccinated family member to attend with their loved ones.  This required coordination between Rabbi, our dining staff and our clinical staff to ensure that we were proceeding with the proper amount of caution, but with an eye towards continued forward progression.  Aside from a few hiccups, the event was very well received and was a welcome vision for ongoing reopening.

To that end, the next step for Independent Living will begin this next weekend.  First, visitation can include enjoying more community spaces, such as the living room or the outside terrace.  We are not quite ready for use of the bistro for eating, but meals can be taken to go back to resident’s apartments.  Keep in mind that masks should be worn at all times and continue to maintain distancing and hand hygiene.  All visitors should check into the front desk kiosk and wear their visitor’s tag while in the building.  Please keep your visitation groups small.

We are also pleased to announce that we will be inviting guests to the Easter service this coming Sunday.  Please coordinate with Vicki in Enhanced Living for setting up a guest list.  I would ask that you keep the number of guests to no more than 2 so we can allow for as many residents as possible to have a guest. This event will take place in our auditorium, with seats spread out for distancing.  Again, please reach out to Vicki for more information.
