We have no new positive cases in the community at large.

The most recent positivity rate in Delaware County is 4.2%, which is now the 4th week in a row with an increase. Pennsylvania has gone up over 5% for the first time in months.

As you are probably aware the Delta Variant of Covid-19 is present in our community. The Delta variant is said to be 1000 times more contagious than the previous variants we have seen. The number of Covid-19 rates have increased significantly over the last few weeks. It is also being spread by vaccinated individuals but that person is less likely to have severe illness or to be hospitalized. As with any Covid-19 disease the elderly are most at risk and our posture of protecting our residents remains paramount.

At this point we are not changing the visitation policy and we hope to keep it that way, however, we ask that you seriously weigh your visitation options. We would encourage anyone that is not vaccinated either to visit outdoors or through the window. We also ask you to consider outside visits or shorter visits indoors to prevent the possible spread of infection. As always we ask for strict adherence to mask wearing. Lowering your mask for even a second could result in transmission of Covid-19.

Please remember when you visit your loved ones you could not only infect your loved one but all of the residents and staff of the community and their loved ones. We are a community that has been through a lot together but not as much as other communities. Together we can get through this next difficult wave.
