We have no new positive cases in the community at large.
The most recent positivity rate in Delaware County is 2%, which is up 0.8% from last week. Pennsylvania has gone up week over week to 2.8%. We continue at 91% staff vaccinated. The delta variant is the most prevalent strain of the covid virus currently and the vast majority of those hospitalized are unvaccinated.
This past week, we had the good fortune of being chosen as a research setting for a granted partnership with University of Pennsylvania through a grant from the Jewish Healthcare Foundation in conjunction with the John A Hartford Foundation and The Henry Hillman Foundation. The pilot program will work to change the model of skilled nursing facility care to better coordinate with partner hospitals and nursing schools. There are 4 facilities involved with the program, 2 in the western part of PA, partnering with UPMC, one in central PA, partnering with Penn State University, and WEL Main Line, partnering with University of Pennsylvania. There will be more information sent out as the program gears up and the program is a 2 year project. We are very proud of our Meadows care staff and look forward to building on our current set of skills through this venture. I will attach a link to an article that was published in June discussing this program.
