We have identified one more positive in Independent Living and have no other potential positives at this time in IL.  All residents continue to recover. Please reach out to wellness with any symptoms.

We have no new positives in the Pines(personal care) and our 1 positive continues to recover.

Last night, we identified 2 residents in the Meadows with symptoms and rapid tests noted positive results.  This triggers a requirement for us to test everyone in the Meadows and begin sentinel testing for all staff that works in the Meadows.  The tests for the residents have been sent out to the lab this a.m and through our first testing of staff we noted no new positives.  Except 1.

This a.m I tested myself at home prior to heading to work and it came up as positive.  I am working offsite and will stay offsite until non symptomatic and at least 5 days beyond the positive test.  As a historical note, I have had no positive tests in the last 2+ years.  The current sentiment in the medical world is those who have never been infected by Covid are in the minority.  Now some do not show any symptoms or show symptoms that are so minor, they are not concerned enough to test.  I am in the latter category.  I would describe my symptoms as no more than an allergy sniffle and the sore throat you get from the nasal drain.  I tested this am since we have seen those symptoms with some of our current positive residents.  I am thankful I am feeling well and look forward to being back onsite as soon as possible.

I mention my current status not for sympathy (I am fine!), but to prepare for my ask of all families and residents.  We are in a situation where the current variant of the Covid virus does cause mostly minor symptoms but is noted as 80% more contagious.  I would ask everyone to be hyper vigilant of your health issues and assume positivity with any respiratory symptoms rather than brushing it off as a seasonal allergy or simple cold.  We are attempting to close the loop of our current positive cases and our residents are more at risk with co-morbidities.  We are now enjoying weather that would allow for outdoor visits.  I would ask those who want to visit to take advantage of that option.  I would also ask those who have any question of their health circumstance to reschedule your visit for a later date.  We want to get back to no positives onsite as soon as possible.  Please reach out to Kim for the Meadows and Tamara for the Pines to discuss visitation options. Thank you all for your attention to this request.  Please stay safe.
