We completed testing again in the Meadows due to the requirement for 2 weeks with no positives and we have more positive tests. Once again, there are no symptoms noted and the positive residents are fully vaccinated including the boosters.  There are no new positives in any other unit.  We will continue to test until we have 2 weeks without any positives and we are continuing to test staff.  Delaware County went up again to 7.3% from 5.9% positivity.

As a reminder, visitation continues since we are 100% vaccinated.  However, I want to stress that the virus is still prevalent in our county and we still need to be vigilant.  It is important that masks are worn while visiting and all visitation policies are observed.  Our staff cannot be expected to not only provide care for our residents but also police visitation policies.  All policies have been sent to families with emails in our possession and they are also posted at the entrance to the unit.  Please respect the importance of these policies and maintain safety for our residents while on site.

We are also starting to see the seasonal flu season impact our staff and residents.  The flu was very low last season, but that was more a byproduct of the higher hesitance of people to spend time in more crowded situations last year.  I would strongly urge everyone to get a flu shot and if you are feeling any symptoms, refrain from visiting anyone in our community until you feel better.  There are many risks right now to our community, not only Covid-19.  The flu and other viruses such as RSV are also active.  Wear your masks, clean your hands, and get your vaccines!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
