Hello Upper Moreland Residents and Families,

As promised, we are calling to share our Mother’s Day plan!  We are eager to partner with you to do something fun and exciting for our campus to celebrate!  On Sunday, May 10th we will be leading a car parade through the parking lots of WEL Upper Moreland. We invite all families to participate in the parade by decorating your cars with balloons and signs to honor all of the Mothers living in our community. Honking and cheering are encouraged as well!

The parade will be led by our WEL vehicle and driver, and will begin promptly at 1:00pm, departing from the Upper Moreland Intermediary School. If you would like to participate, please arrive no later than 12:45pm at the school. To get to the school, bypass our main entrance and turn onto Orangeman’s Road, where you will proceed to the entrance of Upper Moreland Intermediary School. We will be using their parking lot as a staging area, and WEL staff will direct you to line up in the order which you arrive. The parade route will travel through all parking areas and streets of our campus, after which you will be directed off campus and onto Byberry Road.  If you have brought a gift with you for a specific resident, there will be an opportunity to drop those items off at a designated location on the parade route. There will be no other opportunity to stop along the parade route, and all participants must remain in their vehicles at all times. Residents are invited to watch from their balconies, patios, porches and windows.  We will work with those residents who do not have a clear view from their apartments to get some front row seating for the celebration.

As we anticipate an overwhelming response and participation in this parade, we are asking that all other deliveries be made prior to 11am on Sunday, May 10th.  Our campus will be closed to non-vendor vehicles from 11:30am-2:30pm to accommodate this parade.  We will continue to accept deliveries from local florists throughout the weekend. We are unable to accommodate any in-person visitation on campus throughout the weekend. We understand how challenging this may be to celebrate this special day from afar, however we appreciate your cooperation and adherence to the policies currently in place to keep our residents and staff safe. We look forward to honoring all of our Mothers and celebrating with you in style during Sunday’s parade!
