COVID:

I am pleased to share that no new COVID-19 cases were identified during testing this past week.  The positivity rate in Philadelphia continues to drop and is 4.6% as reported today.  We will continue to test staff on a weekly basis for the present time.

With the CDC announcement on May 13 regarding face masks, please be aware that this does not pertain to health care or congregate living settings.  At this time, we are requesting all residents, visitors and staff continue to wear face masks when inside the community.  We will attempt to have more clarity related to independent living residents this upcoming week.  For this time, however, face masks must be worn in public areas within the community.

BACK TO NORMAL:

This past week was National Nursing Home Week and all of the WEL Pennypack Park residents and staff were invited to and many participated in activities each day, including a barbeque on Wednesday.  Kudos to Megan Boran and her staff, as well as the Leadership Team who brought the events together in a fashion that was more normal than we have experienced in a long time.  We are looking forward to more of these types of programs as we inch forward in returning to our normal lifestyle.
