Dear Residents, Families and Staff,

The vaccine clinic ended close to 5pm this evening. All residents and staff who elected to receive it were able to be vaccinated. Early numbers indicate 217 vaccines were given Pfizer was the manufacturer of our vaccine and the 2nd dose will be given on Saturday February 20, 2021. No one at WEL Doylestown had any immediate adverse reactions post vaccine; but side effects such as sore arm, fever, fatigue, headache, chills, vomiting and muscle pain may be experienced. If you develop side effects that are bothersome or do not resolve, contact your healthcare provider. If you think you might be having a severe allergic reaction, call 911. Our security team is also available overnight.

I also am writing to share about a current serious situation on our campus. The emergency call bell system for all apartments ending in 18 through 34 is currently not working. If residents residing in apartment numbers ending in 18 through 34 use the call bell it will not alert our staff. We notified the residents earlier today and have sent out another message via our phone tree. Our staff and our vendor were on site all day trying to resolve the issue to no avail. We have more specialists who will be working on the system tomorrow.

For residents residing under a Personal Care contract, the staff will be monitoring those rooms regularly. For the remainder of the building, our security will be walking the floors hourly. If a resident in an apartment ending in 18 through 34 needs immediate assistance, they can call our front desk at 215-345-4300. If it is a true emergency they should call 911. The emergency call bells are working for apartments ending in 1 through 17. The emergency call bell system in skilled nursing is fully operational. Again we will be working on resolving this issue again tomorrow.

Hopefully, all residents and staff who received the vaccine today will continue to feel well and rest easy tonight.

Best regards,
Maureen
