WEL-Vaccinated Visitation Program for Independent Living Residents
Dear WEL Residents, Family Members, and Employees:
The CDC just announced that fully vaccinated individuals may visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing. These recommendations apply to non-healthcare settings. Additional CDC recommendations for vaccinated individuals do still include continuation of precautions in public, such as mask wearing and physical distancing.
In light of these new recommendations, in all of WEL non-healthcare settings, we are welcoming fully vaccinated* family members of independent living residents to visit with their loved ones inside of their apartments and in designated independent living common areas. Mask wearing and physical distancing must continue outside of the resident’s independent living apartment: in all common areas of all WEL communities.
To implement this new program for fully vaccinated family members of independent living residents, each family member must enter through the main entrance, wearing a face mask and be screen, then present a valid vaccination record. This card/record must include dates and lot numbers of both doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, with the second dose administered at least 14 days prior to visitation. Each WEL community will also require family members to make prior appointment for this visitation to the independent living apartment and designated areas of the WEL community.
Independent residents who will not receive their second vaccination until March 27, will not be able to receive fully vaccinated visitors until April 11.
Fully vaccinated residents and their fully vaccinated family members will be welcomed to the Fireside Dining Room, as well. Reservations are required for guests.
Thank you for the confidence and trust you place in us!
Warm regards,
Suzanne
