Dear Residents, Families and Employees:

I am very pleased to share that the health center resident who I reported tested positive for COVID-19 is actually negative.  The information reported to us from the hospital emergency department was erroneous.  It was not until we began investigating and initiated communication with other levels of staff at the hospital that we learned the resident was negative.

As a result of this news, the upcoming visits scheduled to begin November 2 are back on track.  If you had an appointment to visit, we will be seeing you then.

All health center residents were tested on Monday, October 26, and you will be informed of the results of those tests.  I will also update you later this week on the employee testing.

I am very sorry for any upset and disappointment this may have caused our residents, families and staff.  The effect on our staff was certainly palpable yesterday, and we are all thrilled that the reporting was incorrect.

The positivity rate in Philadelphia continues to rise, we urge you to stay safe, wear your mask, socially distance and wash your hands frequently.
