Residents and Families,
As COVID cases continue rising significantly throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding counties, we will be maintaining our current precautions through the holidays. These precautions include halting of visitation for the entire community. Our Team Members continue to connect and engage with our Residents with various methods including arranging for walks outside, phone-call check-ins from our Chaplain, and wellness checks for our IL Residents. Compassionate visits are being permitted on a case-by-case based upon the need of the individual Resident. The clinical Teams in our Health Care Center and Personal Care will review each request. To request a visit in HCC, please contact your Social Worker. For PC, please contact Kathy Baptiste or the PC Nurse. For Independent Living, please contact me.
EVERYONE MUST wear a face mask at all times when in the community which covers both the nose and mouth. I am again requesting our Independent Residents to stay home for Thanksgiving. Our Employees have already made changes to their Thanksgiving plans, myself included. I am very thankful to those who are making changes and their commitment to WEL and our Residents.
At this time, we will accept flowers, gift deliveries, etc. Due to the ever changing conditions related to COVID-19, if you want to drop off holiday gifts now, we can hold them until Christmas/Hannukah for delivery to your loved ones. I am ever hopeful that we will be accepting packages right up through the holidays, but I cannot guarantee that will occur.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions or concerns. You can send also e-mail me at kbeiler@wel.org
Please take care of yourselves, and I will be in touch again soon.
