Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
This upcoming weekend we will experience another first – Mother’s Day apart from those we love. Please do not hesitate to send flowers, chocolates, etc. We are going to accept deliveries from florists and we will get them delivered to our residents on Mother’s Day. Please do not come to the community to visit at a distance. It is so difficult, and we appreciate your cooperation.
We end this week without any updates for re-opening southeastern Pennsylvania. Here at WEL PP, we continue to plan for our re-opening. We have set-up the Fireside Dining Room furniture in a fashion that will allow us to continue two seating’s, maintain social distancing of residents, and limit the number of persons at a table. It will require some sacrifice since groups larger than four will not be able to sit together, but it will work. Dining in the health center and personal care dining rooms has also been planned to allow for limited seating and social distancing. It, too, will be different, but will work and allow residents to come together again. All of this is predicated upon Governor Wolf’s directives as well as Department of Health requirements.
During this past week, we have no new residents with symptoms, no new positive cases and we have no pending results. We have admitted two COVID-19 positive cases to the quarantine unit, which means we are currently treating three people in that unit, the resident who was there and the two new admissions. We continue to have low impact in staffing related to COVID-19 and the staff is doing a great job at self-reporting any symptom(s) and keeping themselves out of work, getting tested and self-isolating.
We are all looking forward to seeing a return to our normal lives, enjoying the opportunity to welcome visitors into our community and coming together. In the meantime, please be assured that our staff is taking care of your loved ones, enjoying a laugh with them and doing everything within our power to keep spirits up.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions or concerns. Be safe and well.
