Residents and Families,

During this past week, we had no new Residents test positive for COVID-19 and two new Employees test positive. Regrettably, the listing I sent last week included an inaccurate compilation of data on my part about our community’s cases, only as stated in my weekly update to you, and I need to correct this.   As of 5/28/20, we have experienced and reported 50 confirmed cases among residents in our Health Care Center (Skilled Nursing Community), 6 confirmed cases among our Personal Care residents and 2 confirmed cases among our Independent Living residents.

We continued this week working on plans for our re-opening.  We have rearranged the chairs in the Parlor to begin some small group activities for Stapeley Hall Personal Care Residents very soon.  We are encouraging Stapeley Hall Residents to take advantage of our large front porch and enjoy the spring weather (while wearing masks and maintaining proper social distancing).   We continue to evaluate seating in the main dining room and are preparing the patio for additional seating options when the time comes. We have also ordered a Plexiglas tabletop screen to determine if this will be of assistance as we try to adjust to another new normal for dining.  Re-opening remains to be on hold at this time in our community, and with regards to all communities like Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley, Governor Wolf and Secretary of Health Rachel Levine have made it clear that our communities are still in the “red” phase and will not be opening for the near future.

Please take care of yourselves, and I will be in touch again soon.
