Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
We have received a memo from the Department of Human Services, who license personal care, officially stated all personal care residents and staff must be tested by August 31. We have begun testing the staff, and will tests the residents at the same time the testing is going on in the health center. We will be completed by July 24, as required by the Department of Health for the health center staff and residents. Currently all of our health center residents have been tested, and the results for Health Center 1 are all negative. Results for Health Center 2 are completed and all results are negative. The results received for employees tested to date are negative, as well. As you can imagine, we are very pleased with these results and more optimistic about the prospect of re-opening for visitors once the 28 days have passed after Philadelphia is a full phase green.
I suppose I do not have to share with you that Bonny was the hit of the week when she returned to the beauty salon this past Friday. The gym re-opened yesterday to smiling faces, as well. It is great to see independent residents out and enjoying these areas. As a reminder, face masks must be worn, covering the nose and mouth, ALL of the time when out of your apartment, as well as continued practicing of social distancing. I am sure you are all aware of the resurgence of COVID-19 in 32 of the 50 states. This is reportedly due to the lack of practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
We will be having a barbecue on July 4th for our residents. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, if you are going to sit outside, please be mindful of social distancing and wear your mask when not eating. Enjoy!
