Dear Residents, Families and Employees:

We are pleased to update you this week about our residents, let you know of a service that we will be offering to our independent and personal care residents, and briefly touch on re-opening.

First we would like to share with you that we continue to have two positive cases of COVID-19 in our community and both residents are showing signs of improving.  Our employee cases remain under two percent of our total workforce, and that has been consistent for several weeks.  We continue to be aggressive with the assessment of residents and staff, and immediate implementation of isolation for both residents and staff if we detect one symptom, one time.

The staff works tirelessly to support our residents, celebrate birthdays and act as surrogate family as we take care of all of the residents in the community.

Because we are finding it more and more difficult to obtain delivery dates for groceries, we have decided to offer some pantry basics through our dining department.  A memo and order list is going to be delivered by Friday, April 24, and offer the opportunity to purchase some provisions through our kitchen.  The basics of milk, OJ, bread (4 types), eggs, cereal (individual portions) and some deli items, ice cream, cookies, some fresh salad veggies, etc. will be included.  At this time we will not be offering toiletry items, however.

The President and Governor have initiated conversation about re-opening and we want to share that that does not include communities such as ours.  Our understanding is that the CDC and Department of Health will be providing guidelines (in the future) and set parameters outside of the Governor’s plan for CCRC’s, nursing homes and assisted living communities.  We are not seeing this happening in the near future, but we will keep you informed.

This has been another extraordinarily busy week, but being cautiously optimistic, it has been a positive week.  We continue to be thankful to you for your prayers, kind words and support.

Please take care of yourselves, and do not hesitate to contact us with your questions or concerns.
