COVID-19
As you are aware, last week there was a diagnosed positive case of CV19 in the Personal Care community. Precautions taken involve the individual’s quarantine for 14 days, testing of the Personal Care Team and restricting apartment visitation for personal care residents. My thanks and accolades to the Personal Care team and really all staff persons for how they’ve managed interruptions and maintained a stable response to the pandemic’s intrusions. These are why we’ve done as well as we have during this time.
Good news is that, as of today, testing results done with residents and employees are negative. So we are headed in the right direction.
MORE GOOD NEWS is that the Bucks County positivity rate has dropped more than 2 points to 7.3%. Still, we are not changing visitation rules (which we’ll loosen things when the rate is < 5%). For Skilled Nursing residents, visits may take place masked, one visitor at a time inside in visitation room by appointment and outdoor at a maximum of two visitors at a time.
VACCINATIONS
Our HR department is reminding everyone of what’s to be gained by full vaccination. Here’s a sampling. Once you’re fully vaccinated you can:
- Visit inside a home without a mask, with others who are fully vaccinated [or are not at risk for severe illness]
- Travel domestically without pre or post travel test
- Travel domestically without quarantine after travel
- Travel internationally without post-travel quarantine
- Attend medium and large gatherings
Vaccines are now readily available, so join the movement. [source: CDC]
MOTHERS DAY
With Mothers’ Day upcoming, we will make an exception for visitation of Personal Care residents. A maximum of 2 vaccinated persons may visit for one hour, on Sunday, in apartments. Independent residents are also encouraged to limit the number of visitors to no more than 2 at one time in their apartments. Common areas, including the 9th floor, are off limits to visitors.
REGARDING DELIVERIES. If you want to send something to a resident, please do so early in the week. Mothers’ Day is popular such that the front lobby staff are often overwhelmed. If you are coming to visit, bring the item with you. Thanks for your assistance here.
SATISFACTION SURVEY
As of today, we have in hand 152 completed questionnaires from residents and 105 from employees. Next, results will be complied. Department leaders will pour over the results and find the best way to report the results and also determine what will be done for the remainder of the year to address areas in need of improvement. Stay Tuned. And, thanks for participating.
BUILDING & PROPERTY
Today, no later than tomorrow, our new conversion van is to be delivered. The Chrysler Voyager is wheelchair enabled and will work well for short trips. Ace driver, Rick Adams, will be glad to have this added to the fleet.
Also scheduled for this week is work on the Main Entry patio where work on resetting pavers and cleaning will commence.
Furthermore, the Bocce Court is to be cleaned and leveled this week.
FLOOR CHATS.
The Executive Director will hold a series of open conversations with residents, by floor, beginning tomorrow.
Tuesday, May 4th at 11am, is designated for 8th floor residents to be held on that floor’s lobby.
On Friday this week, May 7 the 11am chat will be held for 7th Floor residents on that floor’s lobby. There is no agenda for these other than what residents would like to discuss or question. Please join.
