Unfortunately, we have had a new positive in an IL resident. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Thankfully, this resident has gotten the first dose of the vaccine, so the hope is that they will be provided protection from more severe symptoms. We have begun the contact tracing in relation to both residents and staff who may have had close contact with this resident. If you have not been notified, no close contact has been identified.

We had no positives this week with our staff testing.

We continue to have no positives in the Pines.

We have no new positives in the Meadows.

The important thing to remember is that the virus is still active and we need to maintain our safety protocols while we wait for the vaccine to be more prevalent and the virus to be weakened. Another point to note is that the incubation period, the amount of time it takes to both feel the effects of the virus and begin to test positive, is still a questionable timeframe. At first, 14 days seemed to be a good timeframe to go by, but it has been shown to be as long as 21-24 days for symptoms and positive testing. This makes contact tracing and quarantining more difficult. The best defense is to continue to make safe choices as regularly as you can. Please contact wellness if you are showing any signs or symptoms.
