On December 29 we tested a total of 108 employees. In that group we received two positive employee test result last night. One of the two people tested positive in mid-November and should not have been re-tested for a period of 90 days. That will be addressed with that employee.
I have received a tentative date for the first COVID-19 vaccination clinic. We are scheduled for Sunday, January 10, 2021. Two subsequent dates are also tentatively scheduled. Once they are confirmed, I will confirm the dates with our residents, families and staff. As you may have read or heard in the news, the process is not going at “warp speed”. We are still quite excited to get our vaccinations going. January 10 cannot come soon enough.
We stand today on the precipice of 2021. Brooks Atkinson was a theater critic for the New York Times and a Pulitzer Prize winner. If I did not know better, I would think that Mr. Atkinson’s quote about a new year was in reference to 2020 . . .
“Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.”
To every resident, family member or friend and to each co-worker, I hope and pray for a new year that is filled with hope, brightness, and health. I pray that we soon come together as family and friends shake hands, hug, and enjoy closeness. I pray for peace of heart and peace of mind.
I am thankful for each of you, and these are my hopes and wishes for you.
