To try to keep all informed with our current status, I decided to consolidate our current numbers of positive tests and the status of all the positives we have had with the most recent surge in Delaware County.
We had our first positive staff member tested onsite with our rapid testing 11/17/2020 and to date we have 3 staff member who tested positive onsite through rapid testing. We also have 4 staff members who tested positive offsite through PCR testing. All of this staff have stayed out of work based on CDC healthcare quarantine time based guidelines. Also, all of this staff has experienced either no symptoms or mild symptoms and are recovering at home. Please keep them in your thoughts.
We had one positive resident test on 11/23 through sentinel testing in the Pines(Personal Care) and retested due to some odd results and the second test was returned as negative. We kept the resident in quarantine until we had verification. They never showed any symptoms and have been fine since this testing. We have had no positive tests in the Meadows since this surge. We have also had no positive tests in our Independent Living apartments.
We continue to test staff based on current positivity rates in Delco, over 10%, and test residents based on current guidance from our state and federal oversight agencies. We are now 14 days outside of Thanksgiving and would expect any surge related to family get togethers or travel to be seen by now. The hope is that we will start to see some benefit from the mitigation techniques that the state is implementing and the continued vigilance of our community at large.
I would continue to urge all residents, families and staff to continue your current behaviors as we have had a good run to this point and I am hopeful we can continue our good fortune. Thank you all for your support and your efforts.
