As a result of employee COVID testing that took place Thursday, January 7, we have received one new positive result. Testing also took place on Friday, January 8. We receive results in approximately 36 hours, always late at night. I will keep you informed of updated results.
The positivity rate in Philadelphia for the period January 1 thru January 7 has dropped to 10.8%. Once the city drops below 10% testing of employees will reduce to once per week. Resident testing will not immediately change.
Certainly the positivity rate is trending in the right direction. I am hopeful that between the positivity rate dropping and the vaccinations that will be administered, we will begin to experience fewer and fewer positive results and move toward a more normal lifestyle once again.
