Unfortunately, I am unable to share the next scheduled clinic date with you at this time. CVS currently has WEL Pennypack Park scheduled for 8 more clinics, two of them are duplicate dates, the others are back to back dates. I am working with CVS to get this resolved.

In the meantime, I am happy to share that the initial vaccination clinic went very well. For those vaccinated, the effectiveness of the vaccination begins to take place in 10-12 days. After the first vaccination, Pfizer indicates you are approximately 54% protected from contracting the COVID virus.

When the next vaccination date is confirmed, we will be vaccinating both Health Center and Personal Care residents. That is confirmed.

HEALTH CENTER & PERSONAL CARE ONLY:

Health Center residents will be vaccinated in the health center. For the majority of the residents this will be second vaccination. Personal Care residents will be vaccinated for the first time, and that will take place on the Personal Care unit in R Building.

During the next vaccination clinic there will be first time vaccinations provided, and during the third clinic date the completion of second vaccines will take place.

New consent forms must be completed and signed. The schedule will be from 9:30 – 3:00 both days as follows, for both Health Center & Personal Care residents. Please pick up the consent form at the vestibule, return to your car to complete and return to the vestibule the same day:

        Tuesday, January 19 – A thru L
        Wednesday, January 20 – M thru Z

We will not mail consent forms to anyone due to the problems in the USPS. If you want a copy emailed to you, please email me directly at the email address in the closing of this memo. If the resident is willing and able to sign the consent form, we will obtain those signatures.

EMPLOYEES:

All employees will be vaccinated in Wesley Hall.

Employees who received their first vaccine on January 10 will receive their second vaccine during the next confirmed vaccination clinic.

During the next vaccination clinic there will be first time vaccinations provided, and during the third clinic date the completion of second vaccines will take place.

Consent forms are to be completed now and returned to Kathy Baker, your supervisor, or Suzanne Lachman.

If you are being vaccinated for the first time, you must see Kathy Baker and present your insurance card so they can be copied (front and back) and provided to CVS at the time of the vaccination clinic.

All employees receiving the second dose of the vaccine must present the COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (provided with your first vaccination) at the time of registration for your second vaccine.

INDEPENDENT RESIDENTS

We cannot guarantee that you will be vaccinated in the next confirmed vaccination clinic. I will be pushing hard to have you included in the next two clinics. In hopes that we can make this happen, we will prepare in advance.

Next steps:
• Monday, January 18 from 10 to 12 and 1 to 3 report to the computer room and lounge in M Building near the copier room with your Medicare and secondary insurance cards in hand. Copies of front/back of the insurance card will be made.
• For couples – only one family member needs to come with the insurance cards.
• Wear your mask or you will be returned to your apartment to obtain your mask – covering nose and mouth.
• Practice 6 foot distancing
• Consent forms will be provided for you to return to your apartment to complete and sign. A sample form with the areas you must complete will be provided.
• ALL consent forms must be returned by Thursday, January 21. Copies can be dropped off on the table in my office OR at the front desk.
