Effective immediately, all group activities including all worship services, movies, and games will be discontinued until further notice. This also includes all committee meetings scheduled for this week and the Energy Club group fitness classes. The Energy Club will also be closed for all individual exercise effective tonight as well, including the pool. No weekly schedules will be sent out or printed.
Upcoming holiday/religious events such as Easter Celebration, Passover and Shabbat services are also subject to cancellation if necessary, but will be revisited as we move forward. It would also be suggested for those who have plans outside the community to keep those on a potential cancel list as well.
The resident dining room and Bistro will be closed after dinner on Sunday March 15th and will not open until further notice. The Bistro will remain available for staff for takeout only so they will not have to leave the campus and return unnecessarily.
Beginning on Monday March 16th staff will deliver dinner meals to all IL resident rooms and will have the ability to send up some breakfast and lunch meals from Bistro. The dining department is working on getting staples onsite for your use. As of this announcement, no points will be necessary for any and all meals, deliveries or provisions requested until further notice. That being said, no requests for more than reasonable provisions will be filled. We are a community and in this together and supplies may become short. Provisions include some toiletries and breakfast items(dry goods, milk, pastries, bread) for a couple of examples. We are working on some prepackaged ready to heat meals as well. Keep in mind that we may not have the quantity of choices while we work our way through this difficult time, but we will attempt to accommodate all requests if possible. Menus are being worked on today and will be available for tomorrow.
We implore residents not to leave the WEL Main Line campus at this time. And we would ask you to discuss with your physician if any necessary visits can be done through technology, such as Skype or telemedicine. We will assist with making that work. The wellness office will also not be open for physician visits and will be making themselves available for apartment visits and delivery of prescriptions. Please call wellness during their regular hours if you feel ill and they will assist you by phone or apartment visit. Companion services will continue for all residents on that service. Outside home care services will be managed on a case by case basis. If you need to leave campus, please be aware of your surroundings and if it is a regular event, such as volunteering, working, etc. please avoid ANY contact with other residents including possible family members in other units upon your return. A reminder to check in at the front lobby for screening when you return before you drive around to your apartment, if you need to leave property. One other reminder that NO VISITORS are allowed in the building and if there is a need to drop off items, this should be done at the front lobby only.
As we know, there has been a request by the Governor to close places of business such and restaurants, grocery stores, department stores, and restaurants. Schools have been closed as well. This is being taken seriously by governmental agencies and will be taken seriously by us at WEL Main Line.
