We have had no new positive tests or deaths in the Meadows for residents or staff since my last update on 6/17/2020. Our last positive test was 5/5/2020.
We continue to have no positive cases in the Pines with staff or residents to date.
In the Independent Living unit, we have had no more positive tests. Our last positive test in IL was 4/29/2020. Please continue to maintain social distance and mask wearing if you are out of your apartment. As always, please contact wellness with any concerns about your health.
We have had no new staff positives since our last update on 6/17/2020.
As most of you are aware, Delaware County has been pegged to move to the ‘green’ phase as of 12:01am on Friday 6/26. We are excited to see the continued move towards an expanded level of community re-entry and continue to work towards increasing our services here at WEL Main Line. To that point, I have some additions to the next steps for the coming weeks.
I am going to ask residents to start taking their apartment trash back down to the hallway trash cans. We implemented the trash bags in the doorways to assist in keeping residents out of the hallways as much as possible, but as we move to more free mobility in the community at large, it is now time to return to the expectation that trash is taken to receptacles rather than left in hallways. We will provide reminders as we move forward with this request.
The hair salon provider Ciao Bella has targeted July 13th as their reopening date. As they start to reopen, they will focus on IL residents to start. Based on guidance from the state agencies, the Meadows and the Pines will have to wait a couple of weeks after that date for new appointments to start. The bank has not given us a date as of yet, but we will notify when they have a plan.
We are working towards a plan for transport to shopping venues using our bus. There will most likely be a limit on available seats and we will identify what we will have to do with increased trips to accommodate requests for seats. As the religious congregations work towards their reopening, we will also add trips to these sites.
As far as in person visits in the community at large or apartments specifically, we have a plan to allow these with no limitations July 18th. We are looking to get 2 weeks past the July 4th weekend to ensure no spikes in viral activity and feel this date gives us the best chance for a successful return to family visits inside. We have had some requests for apartment visits for personal needs, but when we hit July 18th, we will no longer need to manage these visits so closely. Entry screening at the front vestibule is to continue to ensure anyone who may be a risk is identified prior to entry. If you have any questions about the best practices or whether a visit is appropriate for your situation, please contact myself or Wellness.
As a reminder, Meadows and Pines visits are still not allowed until we are 28 days past the ‘green’ date, which will be July 24th.
We are continuing to provide for outside visits at this point. If there is any need for clarification or help with visits, please reach out to wellness.
All of the above next steps are still contingent on our continued lack of positive tests onsite and are subject to reversal if we see an outbreak.
As a regular reminder, we are asking all of you to wear your masks when you are outside of your apartments. Please keep in mind your neighbors and your own health when you make your decisions to have your family visit, go out to the store or outside physician, and practice social distancing and wear your masks. It is the best way to protect you and your neighbors. Please take our reminders in the sentiment they are meant to be presented. It is the best way for us to continue to protect ourselves and our neighbors.
