Today was a tremendous day for our community. We just completed the first vaccine clinic for our Independent Living residents. This now means that we are one shot away from having nearly all of our residents completely vaccinated. The second shot is scheduled for March 2nd for this vaccine course. It was well organized by our staff and CVS came through with a strong clinic staff. We vaccinated every IL resident who was interested in a shot. We have a decent number who had started their vaccinations through other sources, so with this clinic, we are nearly 100% with residents being vaccinated.
We do have extra wellness staff available overnight if anyone feels any significant symptoms. Please use your pendant if you think you need some attention. You may feel a bit sluggish tomorrow, that is a normal symptom and is actually a sign that your body is generating antibodies.
As I said above, the next clinic is March 2nd. We will be doing that clinic essentially the same way we did this one EXCEPT we will start our resident calls for the vaccine in the L hallway and work our way back to A. I want to thank all of your for your perseverance and your patience to get to this point. We are very close to being essentially fully vaccinated as a community and we can continue to push forward towards the other side of this pandemic.
