We have seen no more positive tests in the Meadows since July and we continue to have no positive cases in the Pines with staff or residents to date.
In the Independent Living unit, we have shown no new positive tests and we have had no new staff positives.
The Delaware County positivity rate has just gone up to above 5% for the first time in weeks. The week ending 10/22/2020 sits at 6.67%. Another concerning statistic is the number of hospitalizations related to Covid-19 in the area has doubled in a week from appx 600 to over 1300. As I mentioned earlier if the community rate rises above 5%, we will change how often we test the staff and Meadows residents, but at this point, we will make no more changes to visitation, group activities including dining, or transportation. If the rate rises above 10% in Delaware County, based on Department of Health recommendations, we will have to stop in person visits in the Meadows and the Pines and return to window visits until the rate decreases. We will determine the openness of Independent Living as we move forward. At this point, we are simply asking residents and families to be vigilant of your surroundings and your current health. Err on the side of caution if you feel you may have been somewhere you may have been exposed or you feel under the weather. Onsite positive tests are truly a game changer and will cause more restrictive circumstances.
Just as a reminder, we have a wellness staff person onsite 24 hrs a day, so even if Wellness office is closed, there is someone here to assist you if needed. You can pull your cord which will alert them. We also have security (#484-638-2364) 24 hrs a day if you have a need.
