Dear Residents and Families,

I regret having to write to you so soon since my update earlier this week. However, today we learned two residents at Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park – Health Center roommates – tested positive for COVID-19. One of these residents, who was transferred to a local hospital for care initially, will be returning home to us soon and will be quarantined. The other individual, who is currently asymptomatic, has been and continues to be in quarantine in our community. I have been in touch with both residents’ families about this situation.

The affected resident on our campus is receiving care from a very limited number of our team members, and we continue to take every precaution to limit the possible spread of this virus and to strictly observe the CDC’s guidelines. Please understand that HIPAA regulations prevent us from sharing specific information about any resident’s condition or care.

Additionally, as an update to my most recent communication, one of our employees at home in self-quarantine also tested positive for the virus. This person, our second employee to test positive, will not return to our community until they make a full recovery and is medically cleared to do so.

We remain dedicated to doing all we can to foster a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff. As a reminder, residents who begin to experience symptoms of COVID-19, such as a fever, cough or shortness of breath should inform a member of our WEL care team immediately.

I will continue to share updates with you when possible, and I thank you for your continued support and vigilance during this unprecedented time.

Sincerely,

Suzanne H. Lachman
Executive Director
